ADULT NUTRITION PROGRAMS
- A FRESH START TO A HEALTHIER YOU! is a four-session series that promotes increasing fruit and vegetable intake, nutritious meals and snacks, food safety, food resource management (meal planning and saving money on food purchases), and daily physical activity.
- BE WELL, LIVE WELL is a five-session series that encourages healthy aging for adults over 50 by addressing ways to remain independent through dietary choices and physical activity.
- GET THE FACTS is a four-session series that focuses on reading the Nutrition Facts label to make healthy food choices and identify portion sizes, fat, sodium, and added sugars found in foods.
- GET A TASTE FOR REDUCING FOOD WASTE is a four-session series focusing on reducing food waste through meal planning, storing foods to prevent spoilage, and composting.
- HEALTHY CARBOHYDRATES is a four-session series promoting a healthy eating pattern to prevent or delay diet-related chronic diseases. It includes tips on building a healthy plate, carbohydrate counting, and active living.
YOUTH NUTRITION PROGRAMS
- STEPS TO HEALTH COLOR ME HEALTHY is a nine-session series developed by the North Carolina State Cooperative Extension and the North Carolina Division of Public Health for early childhood children. It uses music, color, and exploration of the senses to teach children about nutritious foods and physical activity and includes parent engagement activities and resources.
- BALANCING FOOD & PLAY is a four-week multi-session series for elementary-aged youth that reinforces the importance of daily physical activity, limiting screen time, eating more fruits and vegetables, and drinking more milk and water. Aligns with 3rd-5th grade TEKS standards and includes parent engagement activities and resources.
- CHOOSE HEALTHY is a four-session series (optional fifth session) for middle-school-aged youth that encourages making healthier choices from the MyPlate food groups, choosing healthy drinks, and being more physically active.
ADULT AND YOUTH PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAMS
- WALK ACROSS TEXAS (WAT) and WALK ACROSS TEXAS YOUTH (WAT YOUTH) are online eight-week* programs that encourage team members to increase their physical activity by tracking their mileage with a combined team goal of 832 miles. WAT is a fun, health-promoting competition for a workplace, community group, or any location where teams can be formed. WAT YOUTH can be a fun opportunity for student vs. teacher competitions to see who makes it “across Texas” first!
- WALK N TALK is like WAT and WAT YOUTH and is an eight-week program* that meets weekly to discuss one of the following nutrition topics…
- Fruit & Vegetable: Each week, a different fruit or vegetable is introduced to encourage increased consumption of fruits and vegetables.
- Rethink Your Drink!: Focuses on staying hydrated and reducing the intake of sugar-sweetened beverages.
- WALK THROUGH TEXAS HISTORY: FRUIT OR VEGETABLE ROUTE (adults only) is an online four-week walking program designed to help Texans establish the habit of regular physical activity while learning about fruits or vegetables.

ADULT GARDENING PROGRAM
- GROWING AND NOURISHING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES GARDEN COURSE is a six-session series that engages participants as they learn how to garden and grow fruits and vegetables to increase their access to fresh produce.
YOUTH GARDENING PROGRAMS
- EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARN, GROW, EAT & GO! (EC-LGEG) is a four-week multi-session series for children in early childhood and kindergarten. EC-LGEG is easy to implement and combines plant and garden learning, food exposure, and brain- and body-boosting physical activities and also includes effective parent engagement activities and resources.
- LEARN, GROW, EAT & GO! is a ten-week multi-session series for elementary-aged youth. It includes gardening and other fun activities reinforcing healthy lifestyle choices, increasing fruit and vegetable intake, and daily physical activity. The series aligns with elementary grade TEKS standards.
